Economic Development
The Juanita Kidd Stout Youth Entrepreneurial Conference is designed to inform and educate young people about wealth building strategies. The goal is to present information and activities that will provide knowledge about earning, saving, investing and making money. It also deals with starting one’s own business. It is a hands-on, interactive program that involves the participants in specific activities that will allow them to practice the techniques presented during the conference.
This conference was developed in honor of one of our most prestigious members, the late Juanita Kidd Stout. Judge Stout was the first African American woman in America to be elected judge, serving in the Municipal and Common Pleas Courts in Philadelphia and serving in the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court. Through her work in and outside the courtroom, Judge Stout gave generously of herself. She influenced hundreds of young people and redirected their lives in constructive ways. Therefore, it is fitting that we honor her with this conference.
